Who qualifies for cardiac rehab?
You may qualify for the program if you have experienced one of the following conditions:
- Heart attack in the last 12 months
- Complex heart surgery
- Current, stable angina
- Heart valve repair or replacement
- Coronary stenting
- Heart or lung transplant
- Stable chronic heart failure (your doctor must provide qualifying criteria on referral)
Cardiac rehab is part of our overall cardiovascular care program and is covered by most insurance companies. Talk to your cardiologist if you are interested in participating in the program. Referrals can be faxed to (843) 832-5118.
Pulmonary rehabilitation
Pulmonary rehabilitation is a useful resource if you have a chronic respiratory disease. It can help reduce symptoms, decrease disabilities, increase participation in activities of daily life and improve overall quality of life.
Our pulmonary rehabilitation program includes:

- Exercise training
To participate in pulmonary rehabilitation, you must quit smoking or begin a smoking cessation program. Participants attend rehabilitation twice a week for several weeks or months, depending on their individual needs.
